The Itchen Bridge provides a toll exemption for
people in receipt of the higher rate of mobility component of the Disability
Living Allowance.
The scheme provides the disabled person with an identity card and tokens to provide them free crossing in any vehicle (with the exception of HGV vehicles).
The identity card will expire one month after the expiry date of the current Certificate of Entitlement to the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA 404) used for the application. We will write to you shortly before that date to remind you to reapply for your concession.
You will receive a laminated identity card and an initial supply of yellow tokens.
When you have handed in your last token you must inform the Toll Collector who will issue you with a new supply.
If you think you may be eligible for the concession please follow this link to our application form that you can print off and send to us. When returning your completed form please ensure you are also sending us the items below:
Clear copy of current Certificate of Entitlement to the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA 404 � tax exemption form) or
Proof of entitlement to a mobility supplement under Article 26a of the Naval, Military and Air Forces etc (Disablement and Death) Service Pensions Order 1983.
Fully and correctly completed application form
One first class stamp to cover cost of postage of Identity Card and tokens
Recent passport photograph.
Copy of both sides of current Blue Badge (a black and white will suffice).
Southampton City Council accepts no liability for loss or damage to documentation in the post.
